LuxeFibers Studio offers“Sit & Knit”events for its students on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:30–8:00 pm et as part of the class tuition (except federal holidays).

Beginner Knitting
SAMPLER SCARF, MORNING WALK CAP, OR FIRST CABLES HAT (CHOOSE ONE) $45
Learn how to: cast yarn on needles, practice various stitches, and develop event knitting tension
Three 1.5 hour classes. Ages 12 and up.
SKILLS NEEDED
Absolutely none. Our beginner class is ideal for those completely new to the craft, those who wish to improve their skills, or those who have not knitted in years and need a refresher.

MATERIALS
You choose the product you wish to knit:
“Sampler Scarf” pattern is on hand in the Studio
“Morning Walk Hat” pattern by Ann Pattern (available on Ravelry)
“First Cables Hat” pattern by Brooklyn Tweed (available on Brooklyn Tweed)
230 yards lt. worsted weight wool, wool blend, or other natural fiber in a light color. Recommend you do not use cotton or acrylic fibers in dark colors. Yarn is available in our Studio; we have several colors you can choose from.
Scarf: Knitting needles in a US size #6 straight or #6 -16" circular or size required to produce the gauge.
Hat: Knitting needles in a US size #4 - 16" circular. a #6 - 16" circular and size #6 double pointed needles (DPNs). Select either Bamboo needles or Metal needles, but might find bamboo easier to learn on.
Misc: darning needle, 3 ring markers, row counter (optional), cable needle — close to size 6

PREPARATION
Be sure to come to the studio early enough to have your yarn purchased and wound into balls before the start of class (suggested 15-30 minutes).

While supplies are not included in the price of the class, we find that almost all of our classes can be taken with between $15 and $30 in supplies. I've found "Needles in the Haymarket" located in Gainesville, VA to be very helpful.

Payment is due upon time of registration. We are unable to hold spaces in classes and workshops without prepayment.

Class fees are not refundable unless the class is canceled by the shop. If cancellation is made outside of 72 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit for use for any future purchase with the shop. Classes with fewer than two students may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. Your registration is valid for the dates listed in the description and may not be transferred to other class dates.
If you have a last minute cancellation, please contact the shop. If we are able to fill your space, we are happy to provide you with a store credit, even within the 72 hour time frame. We understand that emergencies happen, so we will do everything possible to find someone to take your spot. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a store credit or transfer if we are not able to fill your space.

LuxeFibers Studio follows the Federal Government when determining whether to cancel classes due to poor weather conditions. If these agencies close for weather, we will certainly delay or reschedule classes for that day. If we do not reschedule classes, but you do not feel comfortable commuting in the weather, please contact the studio to learn about Thursday evening's "Open Knitting" held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 6:30–8:00 PM ET.
